Question:
Do you share my personal information or e-mail address with anyone else?
No, we do not.
We take privacy very seriously. We only use the information we gather
internally to improve our website and service. Credit card numbers are not
recorded by us. They are processed and encrypted by our on-line processor ECI.
Question:
Is it safe to order over the internet?
Yes, it is. This
site uses the most secure SSL encryption available today. You can see if a
site is secure by looking for the small padlock at the bottom of your browser
and checking the URL(web address) when you are ordering. Make sure that it
says "HTTPS" at the beginning. Clicking on the padlock will give you the level
of encryption. This shows that all information is encrypted and safe to
transmit. It is much riskier handing your credit card to a merchant such as in
a restaurant where copies of your account information could be made. Your
electronic information is handled in an encrypted form so it can only be read
by the credit card processor. It is very safe. Transactions are verified by
our on-line processor ECI.
Question:
How long will it take to have my order shipped?

within 72 hours. Rarely, an item is out of stock. In that case we will notify
you and give you the option of cancelling the order, or waiting until new

information over the internet.
No, you may pay
by check or money order, The mailing address is available at checkout. We will
wait until the check clears before we ship. Due to very high costs for
accepting foreign checks, we will only accept checks or money orders drawn on
US banks. Orders over $500 must be paid by wire transfer or certified check We
also accept payment by Paypal..
Question:
Will these watches fit my wrist?
For most people,
these watches fit well. Occasionally, we have a customer with a very large
wrist. In most cases, we can obtain extra links(metal bands) for free or a
modest shipping fee. There is adequate adjustment for most wrists without
adding or removing links(metal bands).

by keyword in the search field at the top of the pages. You may also look for
a product type by browsing through each product category on the product
page.If you know the style number, just enter it into the search
field.(Example 139H).This will give you all variations of that style. If you
are looking for particular features, look at our Comparison Chart accessible
from the home page.Find the features you want, and look at the model number.
Then simply enter the number in the Search box at the top of the page.
Question:
How can I compare the features of each watch style?

How long is the watch warranteed for?
Each watch comes
with a one year manufacturers warranty.

Once shipped, we
can only accept returns for defective merchandise within 7 days. This ensures
that our stock is always new. After 7 days, all repairs must be sent to
the manufacturer under the warranty. In extraordinary circumstances, we may
allow a return and charge a 20% re-stocking fee and charge for the free
shipping if it has been provided. In most cases, a credit will be issued
towards a future purchase. See our policy page for more information.
Question
:How long will my automatic watch run when I'm not wearing it?
Automatic
watches run on a "power reserve". This power reserve determines the amount of
time your watch will run when you are not wearing it. Most of our automatic
watches can be "wound" by hand to pre-wind the watch before wearing it. The
amount of time that this "power reserve" will last depends on the activity of
the wearer and the amount of time the watch is worn. The power for the watch
comes from the mainspring. If the wearer is inactive, or only wears the watch
for a few hours a day, the "power reserve" may not last until the watch is put
on again. A good rule of thumb is that the watch will run for 2 to 3 hours for
each hour of wear. For these reasons, many people either wear these watches
with no problem if they are active, or utilize an automatic watch winder.
Manually winding the watch about 20 to 25 turns clockwise will give tension to
the mainspring and should run with normal wear thereafter. An inactive wearer
may have to periodically give a few turns to the crown to maintain mainspring
tension.
Because automatic watches are wound by body movement,
there is a mechanism that prevents the watch from being overwound. Therefore
winding your automatic watch should give you a reserve that will be maintained
by body movement, without risk of overwinding the watch.
Question:
Some watches have a"moonphase" feature.
What does this mean?
A
true moonphase watch indicates the phases of the moon on a 28-1/2 day cycle.
Our watches display a day/night window. While this is not actually a true
"moonphase", it is a feature that many people look for. A true moonphase is
found on much more expensive watches often costing thousands of dollars. When
people search for "moonphase", they usually are looking for a day/night
feature. Since the manufacturer describes the day/night indicator as
"moonphase" we follow with this convention. It is assumed that people
purchasing from us realize that true moonphase would cost many times the price
of our watches and that they are purchasing this feature with the complete
understanding of what our description of "moonphase" indicates. No returns or
allowance will be made for any misunderstanding of this feature. Customers
searching for a true moonphase watch should look elsewhere. It is our
experience that 99% of our customers are happy with this feature as is.
Question:
Why aren't any of your watches labelled "waterproof"? Many of them say that
they are "water resistant".
The term
"waterproof" is no longer used to describe watches. The term was found to be
deceptive because it depended on too many conditions to be accurate. The
watches are rated for water resistance in water that is neither too hot or
cold. Hot water can degrade the seals that maintain "water resistance". Also
the activity level of the wearer can temporarily cause the pressure to exceed
the pressure that the watch will tolerate to maintain "water resistance".
Water resistant seals deteriorate over time and should be inspected every 2 to
3 years. Water resistance is a relative term. A watch that is rated at 5 ATM
water resistance will resist water from entering the watch 1/2 as much as a
watch rated at 10 ATM. Since no watch is absolutely water proof, care must be
taken to avoid exceeding the tolerance of each watch. These are not divers
watches. Do not wear them swimming or expose them to excessive heat or cold.
This will compromise the integrity of the seals. Because of variability in the
environment for each wearer, Water resistant integrity cannot be guaranteed.
Avoid going from one temperature extreme to another.
The Swiss Federation recommends the following:
Water resistant to 30 meters
(3ATM) will withstand splashes of water or rain, but should not be worn while
swimming of diving.
Water tested to 50 meters (5ATM)
is suitable for whowering or swimming in shallow water.
Water tested to 100 meters (10ATM)
is suitable for swimming or snorkling.
Water tested to 150 meters (15
ATM) suitable for snorkeling.
Water tested to 200 meters (20ATM)
is suitable for skin diving.
Diver's 150 meters (15 ATM) meets
ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving.
Diver's 200 meters (20 ATM) meets
ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving.
Note: Diving or swimming is not
recommended unless the watch has a screw-down crown and is water resistant to
at least 100 meters.
Question:
How accurate are automatic watches? Are they as accurate as quartz watches?
Automatic
watches are very popular. Because of the type of mechanism, they may need
slight timing adjustments. This is easily done by most jewelers. The accuracy
of these watches, once adjusted should be within about one minute each day.
Purchasers requiring more accuracy should consider quartz watches which are
much more accurate, but require batteries.
Question:
Can I set the time by turning the hands backwards on my mechanical or
automatic watch?
This
is not a good idea. These watches are made for forward movement. Turning the
hands backwards may jam the mechanism. Quartz watches can be set in either
direction.
